A BUSY week and a few new LO's

We have had a very busy week here. My Hubby was on vacation, we got a new puppy (***SOOO much work...I forgot how much***), and Cooper has HIT the 2's head-on. It has been a really, really rough week, but I did find time to scrap a few LO's. Please see my SBB Gallery for credits.


Journaling reads:
You found this Luna moth in the back yard after Lola had been playing with it. It had a hurt wing and wasn't able to
fly very well. You picked it up, decided it was your job to nurse it back to health, and named it Butter-fur “because his fur looks like butter”. He crawled all over you and you just loved that, even though it felt weird. By the end of the evening he was pretty weak and we were not sure if he would make it through the night, but you kept him in
your bug box in your bed and the next morning he was still alive! You took him to school to show your class and when you got back home he was strong enough to fly away, and you were both happy and sad to see him go

Your favorite foods are chicken, raisins, ham, and cheese. You can’t get enough “mulk” and you love to drink Noah’s Propel.

You are learning to share, just a little, and it is so sweet to watch.

Your favorite shows are: Sesame Street, Calliou, and Teletubbies.

You LOVE to play instruments and sing along to your Sesame Street A to Z DVD. You are already learning to recognize several letters from watching it so much.

You are learning to stay afloat in the pool, but you are very sure that we are right there to grab tightly when needed.

You are growing so fast that your shirts are starting to get too short. You are already the size that Noah was at 3.

You fight to walk instead of ride, and to sit in the booth instead of a highchair.

Even though you are having some toddler “moments“ these days, you are still a JOY to be around each day. WE LOVE YOU, Cooper!!!

A quick LO

Just wanted to get this LO posted that I finished last night. My IL's were here this weekend and Cooper had a great time yesterday with Grandma pushing him around in his Little Tikes car.

Pool set-up...Part II

So after the horrible week went spent trying to get the pool set up, it just wasn't level enough and we had to drain it. :( We almost bought a "real" above ground pool last weekend and just let them deal with the sloped yard, but then chickened out at the last possible second. We decided to spend the extra money to have someone come out and help get the yard PERFECTLY level and try the cheap pool again, with the hopes that next year we will know enough about pool care to get the more expensive one then. *sigh*

I finished a LO today of Noah dressed up for soccer camp.

A couple of new LO's to share

Been really busy running my oldest back and forth to activities, but I do have a couple of LO's to share this week. As is becoming the norm, credits can be found in my SBB gallery.

This LO is very special to me. I am NEVER a fan of being in front of the camera, so photos of me are few and far between. Photos of me and my husband are even rarer. Even though this was just a quick snapshot we took at Noah's field day last month, it has become a part of my absolute favorite LO ever.

-He works hard to provide a way for me to be able to be a stay at home mom.

-He is always helping and doing things around the house without ever saying a negative word.

-He gave me the two of you...cried at both of your births...and loves you as deeply as I do, making it a priority to show each of you, every day that your Daddy will love you forever!

More LO's

Things here have just been crazy. Trying to set up a pool in the yard and it has turned into the biggest mess you've seen in a while. We are still holding out hope that it will be worth the time and money we have put into it so far. We shall see.

I was without my laptop for a couple of weeks while my media card reader was being repaired, but I do have a few LO's to share. For credits, see my gallery at SBB.

While you and Lola have a very sweet, loving relationship, Callie is your “buddy”. She lets you drag her around the house like a rag doll without even flinching. She loves to sleep with you and if she doesn’t get to, she makes sure that she is the first one into your room in the morning, to curl up with you and purr. You and Callie have a very special friendship.




journaling reads: We tried flying kites for the first time when you were about two, but it was a disaster, so we just put the kite away and for some reason never tried again. Just a few weeks ago you started asking about flying a kite and said it was your DREAM. We felt so bad that we hadn’t taken you to fly kites since that terrible attempt years ago, so when March arrived I bought two kites and we waited for a windy day. Finally one afternoon the wind was going strong,
so as soon as Daddy got home we went out
looking for a good location. We ended up at
the high school in a field. We had no trouble
getting the kites in the air and we were able
to fly them for over an hour. You were so
happy...laughing, running, just having a blast!

Later that evening you said it was

BAD Blogger!!!

Well life has found a way to TOTALLY disrupt my flow. I am so out of my blogging mojo, that I don't know how to get back in. All of my new LO's seem overwhleming to post since I didn't make note of the credits at the time. I haven't even posted them on any galleries which is completely unlike me.

One of the purposes of my blog is just to share LO's with my friends and family SOOOOO...here's what I am doing. I am going to post all of my recent LO's without the credits. Another oldie and a couple of cute valentines

I am still battling sickness in the house...this time it is me again. Needless to say, there hasn't been a lot of scrapping energy, but today I decided to scrap a Valentine page for each of my kids. Usually I try to be a little more unique for each of them, but today I just felt like making a few changes here and there, but otherwise doing the same LO for each one. One thing I LOVE about Valentine's LO's is the excuse to use PINK in my boys' LO's, LOL!!!!!

I do have one other LO to post. I finished this one earlier this week, but didn't get a chance to post it here. This is from 2000, when Noah was about 15 months old. I used to let him sit in the kitchen floor and play with the pots and pans. This day I had picked him up, frying pan in hand, to put him in his high chair to eat and when I looked back at him, he was strumming the pan like a banjo...even had his ear bent in as if he was tuning the thing.

I'm back...

after a crazy couple of weeks, I am back with a few LO's. I have had so much going on, with company, sick kids, etc, that little scrapping has been done, thus the lack of posts here, LOL. Here are the few I have done:


Journaling reads: In November of last year, you asked about getting Harry Potter to read. You were nervous about trying it when you realized that there were no pictures at all, but you had been reading early chapter books for quite a while and you told me that you would just picture the story in your imagination.

We bought the book and a new love began for you. For the next few days, you would carry your book with you everywhere. You were reading it before bed each night and even in the car. You were having a little trouble with some of the words (especially names) and concepts, but you still seemed to understand what was happening in the story.

After a couple of weeks you began to slow down with your reading. You started reading more of your other chapter books and only read Harry once in a while. We thought that maybe it was just too much and that you had lost interest, but after all of the Christmas excitement died down, you picked Harry Potter back up with determination. Once again you were reading it daily In January you hit the half-way point in the book and you became more and more excited about finishing it.

As February approached, you could see the end in sight! “”Four more chapters, Mama!”...then three, then two...until the night you came running out of your room, book in hand, screaming, “I finished!!!”.

Sorry I have been so ABSENT lately. I have had company all week and my husband out of town and there just hasn't been any time to spare. :O( Hope to be back early next week.

A LONG day

So today I had to take my car in to have my brakes worked on. It is a long story, but we knew this last Friday and the service department was having to get with other dealers to get the needed parts so that they could complete the repairs this morning. They had originally told me that it would be ready around 9:30am. BUT when I arrived at 8:45 I found out that they were still waiting for one of the parts to arrive. Long story short, I didn't get out of there until 1:45!!! The only two good things were that my husband was home today so he was able to keep Cooper with him AND that I thought to take my laptop with me, so I was able to scrap until my battery ran out.

Here are the two LO's I did sitting in the waiting area at the car dealership today, LOL.

My Nana

My grandmother passed away in 2002, but this is the first time I have been able to do a LO in her memory. I really miss her! :O(

My July99 board had a color challenge this week and I got inspired to design a little kit and used the kit to make this two-page LO.

Journaling reads: Nana was such a little fireball and never allowed herself to rest. She spent her whole life taking care of everyone else. She worried about everything and everyone and their problems became hers. She would literally offer you the clothes on her back or the food on her plate if she thought you needed or just wanted them.

I will always remember her little "love-pats", her love of a beautiful camilia bloom, her fried chicken at Sunday dinner, and most of all, her face in the window as we drove away. She would stand in the window with a huge smile on her face and her little hand fluttering a goodbye wave. When I think of her now I overwhlemingly see her standing in that window, waving at me. I truly believe that one day we will walk through Heaven's gates and see a house with a window and Nana will be standing in that window waving, waiting for us to "come on in".

Working on my journaling...

I have never been good at journaling. I want to be, but I struggle. A lot of my LO's are just titles, but I have made it a goal this year to do better and so far I am pretty pleased with myself.

I finished this LO yesterday and I was so happy with the way the journaling just naturally seemed to "fit" the LO. Maybe I'll get the hang of this journaling thing yet, LOL.


Journaling reads: One by one you watched your friends lose their first tooth and every time you would ask us to check to see if your teeth were loose. Every time we said, “Not yet, but you’ll get a loose tooth soon.” After a while it seemed like everyone had lost at least one tooth except you. Some of your friends had lost two, three or even more. You were getting very discouraged.

Then one day you told me, as you had so many times before that you thought your tooth was loose. I expected to give the same answer, but to my surprise, when I tried to wiggle your tooth it actually moved a little! Neither of us could believe it and you couldn’t wait to tell Daddy and call your friends and family to tell them the exciting news.

Every day you wiggled and wiggled that tooth until it was barely hanging on. With a little help from Daddy, FINALLY, on DECEMBER 7, 2005 you lost your very first tooth...the same tooth that almost six years earlier was the first to come in. It was very bittersweet.

Another oldie

I am still trying to get some old photos scrapped and this was one photo that almost begged to be scrapped, LOL. I will never forget walking into the dining room and seeing this face staring back at me. We were both laughing so hard at the end.



Journaling reads: You were sitting at the table having a snack when I looked up and saw you wearing your Mr. Potatohead glasses. It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen! By the time I could get my camera, you were laughing so hard and that big grin just made it that much funnier.

Noah is just so adorable, I swear!

I just LOVE these photos of Noah from Christmas morning. Yes, they are funny...yes, he looks like he has lost it, LOL...but nothing in life is worth more than seeing that much excitement on your child's face. I have never seen that level of energy come out of a person before and it was priceless. Combined with the fact that it was Cooper's first awareness of Christmas, it was honestly the best Christmas yet.

My first 2 page digital LO

Even as a paper scrapper I was never big on 2 page LO's, but sometimes it just seemed to be a better option. Since I started digi-scrapping, I had yet to do a 2 pager, but today that has changed.

I was going through old photos again (maybe one day, many, many years from now, I will actually be caught up on Noah's first three years) and found these photos from our trip to the zoo in 2001. Somewhere in the middle of the LO I decided to try adding a second page and I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. One point for me for trying something new. :)
